ACLU Supporter, ICE's latest campaign targets kids as young as 14 – a horrifying escalation of Stephen Miller's anti-immigrant crusade that has traumatized countless children. Help us end this campaign of terror. Now, ICE has set its sights on the most vulnerable among us – children who came alone to the U.S. in search of protection or to reunite with their families. ICE is trying to coerce these kids into signing horrifying documents, pressuring them to give up their rights to go to court and instead leave the country – abandoning their legal cases for protection and going back to countries where they face violence, neglect, or even trafficking. Some children have even been told that their parents will be arrested if they don't sign. This is abuse. These operations are traumatizing, dehumanizing, and manipulative – and we must act now to stop the government from continuing to take advantage of unaccompanied children.
The trauma that immigrant children are put through in this country is horrifying. Just this month, during an ICE raid in Chicago, young kids were pulled out of their beds in the middle of the night, separated from their parents, zip-tied, and put in trucks on the side of the street. It's any parent's nightmare – and it can't continue. Every child should be treated with dignity and care. I hope you'll join us in taking action today. With thanks for all you do, Sarah Mehta |
