NIAC Action proudly endorses Zohran Mamdani for Mayor of New York City – a candidate whose record, values, and grassroots commitment reflect the best of people-powered politics.
Zohran has consistently opposed war with Iran – including during the height of the June war – and has been a fearless advocate against the ongoing genocide of the Palestinian people, calling out U.S. complicity and championing a principled foreign policy grounded in humanity, not militarism. Zohran’s platform also includes commitments on how New York as a city will protect immigrants in an unprecedented new era of ICE enforcement targeting Iranians and other immigrants.
For months, many of NIAC Action’s New York volunteers and leadership have been out in the streets as part of the volunteer-run grassroots group Iranians for Zohran, galvanizing our community around justice and dignity for all.
Why this race matters: New York is home to one of the largest Iranian-American communities in the U.S. We deserve a mayor who makes real, tangible commitments that matter to every Iranian and immigrant family who calls this city home. Zohran’s immigrant justice platform includes expanding legal defense funding, restoring NYC’s legal services, and upholding sanctuary city values by refusing cooperation with ICE.
