Applications Open for FY26 EXPLORE Section 504 Grants
Intermediate school districts and local education agencies (including traditional school districts, public school academies, and the Michigan School for the Deaf) are welcome to apply for Section 504 EXPLORE grants, which fund Grow Your Own EXPLORE programs for students and also fund tuition grants to eligible EXPLORE graduates. Applications opened on October 23 and will close on December 4, 2025.
These grants aim to address teacher shortages by supporting cohesive systems that guide future educators through the entire pipeline—from exploration and preparation to early employment, clinical practice, and eventual return to the district as certified teachers.
The EXPLORE grant: Section 504 website provides more information, including the grant application timeline and a downloadable Word template of the application. The template will help applicants gather necessary data, budget details, and supporting information before starting the application process.
