Y'all,
The recent executive order to suspend work visas is unacceptable. Not only is it an affront to highly skilled immigrants seeking to live and work in Texas and all over the country, it will damage our economy that millions of immigrants contribute to every single day.
And, unfortunately, it's clear Sen. Cornyn isn't going to do anything about it. After nearly 20 years in Washington, he's talked and talked about the need to reform the immigration system -- but he's repeatedly opposed, blocked, and sabotaged bipartisan reform. It's one of many reasons I'm running to defeat him -- will you pitch in to help?

When a bipartisan bill to fix our immigration system and secure the border came to a vote in 2013, more than two-thirds of the Senate voted to pass it -- and it won support from senators in both parties and across the ideological spectrum. But Sen. Cornyn joined his boss, Mitch McConnell, in voting no.
Texans need a senator who says what she means and means what she says -- not someone who spends 20 years talking about a problem and then refuses to solve it when he gets the chance. I promise that as Texas' next senator, I won't just talk about the need to reform our immigration system -- I'll work to get it done.
But we're up against massive spending from big-money donors and outside groups like the Koch network who are working to prop up Sen. Cornyn. I'm counting on your help to take him on and win this November. If you can, please pitch in today.

It's clear we need a real leader for Texas and a Senate that prioritizes our health care. More than ever, we're relying on online fundraising to keep building the campaign we need to win in November, and we greatly appreciate your continued support >> [link removed]
However, we know this is not an easy time for many. If you'd like to pause receiving fundraising emails for the next few weeks, please let us know here ([link removed]). We'll still keep in touch with important information and to ask your thoughts from time to time.
