John, this end-of-month deadline is an important test for our movement.
We have until Friday to close our $25,000 budget gap this month. Here’s why I know we can do it:
There’s something about this moment that feels different.
Across the country, young people are stepping up — not because it’s easy, but because they can’t afford not to. The threats are urgent. But so is the opportunity.
That’s why we launched Leaders We Deserve. We’re here to elect bold, young progressives who aren’t bought by corporate donors or paralyzed by political games. Leaders who actually give a damn and are ready to fight for what’s right. Leaders with a track record like Christian Menefee who as Harris County Attorney sued the Trump administration multiple times (and won!) AND got corporate polluters like Union Pacific to clean up their act. Or leaders like Donavan McKinney who’s secured millions of dollars in funding to support violence intervention programs to reduce gun violence and has taken on private utilities that buy out the very legislators that are supposed to regulate them.
We’ve endorsed eight candidates already. And they’re all leaders we deserve. They aren’t career politicians. They’re teachers, organizers, and public defenders who know what their communities are facing because they live it every day.
John, your support fuels our work. You have already helped us achieve some remarkable victories, but we aren’t finished doing big things together, are we?
?>Make a $5 contribution now toward our $25,000 end-of-month goal.
Lastly, thank you for being in this fight with us. I know you get emails from me asking you to support our work. Without your help we couldn’t be what I call “lumbar support” for leaders with a spine to stand up to special interests. Our goal longterm is to not need to exist anymore because our political system will no longer be controlled by big money and special interests but will instead be in the hands of the people. To build that future, it will require young principled people stepping up to run and people like you willing to support them, so thank you. We literally could not do this without you.
