Democrats Want $200 Billion of Taxpayer-Funded Health Care for Illegal Aliens

.This fiscal year’s deficit was $50 billion less than last year’s, according to the Joint Economic Committee. President Trump’s economic policy is responsible for this great fiscal news –his tariffs brought in $195 billion this fiscal year. Coupled with responsible economic policies, like the ones included in Republicans’ Working Families Tax Cuts this summer, our nation’s fiscal health is on the right path. There is still a lot of work to be done, but Republicans are committed to reducing wasteful Washington spending, cutting taxes for hardworking Americans, and restoring regular order in Congress.

.October is Down syndrome awareness month, a time when we honor individuals with Down syndrome. All people are worthy of life, which is why I reintroduced the Protecting Individuals with Down Syndrome Act earlier this year. My legislation protects babies with a Down syndrome diagnosis from being aborted solely because of their genetic condition. We must stand up for the voiceless and most vulnerable in our society.

.The Working Families Tax Cuts were signed into law by President Trump this July. Within the legislation, Republicans included many provisions to prevent the taxpayer funding of health care for illegal immigrants. Democrats are demanding the repeal of these exact provisions.

One provision in the legislation closes the California loophole, which was exploited by California and many other states. The loophole allowed states to use federal Medicaid funds for illegal immigrants. Another one of our provisions repealed an Obamacare subsidy to noncitizens. Removing these harmful loopholes ensures that taxpayer funds are safeguarded and not exploited, improving the stewardship and longevity of Americans’ taxpayer dollars.
