**Register for the telephone town hall here**
Dear Friends,
I will be hosting a telephone town hall Wednesday, October 29th at 6:00 PM to discuss the ongoing government shutdown and how my office can assist you during this uncertain time. You can register and submit your questions HERE.
This shutdown began after the Senate rejected a government funding plan. Democrats in the House and Senate came together to support an effort to keep government open, reverse health care cuts, and extend tax credits that protect families from rising premiums. Leading up to the shutdown, President Trump encouraged Republicans in Congress to ‘not even bother’ negotiating.
The Trump Administration has also announced plans to cut off SNAP nutrition benefits starting this Saturday, November 1st. I am working to re-open government, take action on health care, and protect access to food assistance. I look forward to discussing these important issues with you. I hope to have you on the line.

My office has also prepared a web page with Frequently Asked Questions about the shutdown. You can always contact us at 860-278-8888.
