** ABOUT
------------------------------------------------------------
Text recycling, also known as self-plagiarism, is a common practice in research writing, especially in the sciences. It’s also complicated, both ethically and legally, posing thorny challenges for authors and editors. The Text Recycling Research Project ([link removed](TEXT_RECYCLING_WEBINAR_JULY_2020)) (TRRP) aims to better understand this practice and support the development of more clear and consistent policies. Cary Moskovitz, David Hansen and Michael Pemberton of the TRRP will present and overview of their research to date, including surveys and interviews with editors and researchers, copyright and contract law, and analyses of published papers. They will then discuss the ethical and practical issues involved in establishing effective policy.
