It’s Deborah.
Some days, the weight of it all hits harder. These are those days.
Last week, Republicans in the North Carolina legislature rammed through new Congressional maps — drawn in secret, designed to hold power no matter what voters say.
At the same time, Donald Trump is expanding his reach, sending the National Guard into more cities and stoking fear and division.
And yes, we’re still in the middle of a government shutdown — one caused entirely by Republicans, who created this crisis and are now refusing to fix it.
While Democrats are fighting to protect healthcare subsidies, Speaker Mike Johnson refuses to bring the House back into session.
It’s a mess — and it’s hurting real people.
I won’t lie to you: I’m angry. You probably are, too. But more than anything, I’m focused. Because this is what power does when it’s afraid of losing — it cheats, lashes out, and tries to break the system before the people can take it back.
We can’t let it happen.
This is when we dig in — when we remember who we are and what we’re fighting for. Not just a seat or a state, but a country that still belongs to all of us, not just the loudest, the most extreme, or the ones willing to burn it all down to stay in power.
Election Day in 2026 isn’t far away. And every day between now and then is a chance to build something better — but only if we keep going.
My team set a $5,000 end-of-month fundraising goal — not for ads or headlines, but for the organizing, outreach, and groundwork it takes to win, hold this seat, and fight back. If you’re with me, will you chip in $10 today?
