Indiana Gov. Mike Braun (R) announced a special legislative session to redraw the state’s congressional map. Indiana would be the fourth GOP-controlled state to undertake a redistricting initiative at President Donald Trump’s request.
Virginia lawmakers convened for a special session that began today to move forward with plans to redraw the state’s legislative maps – making Virginia the second state to propose a redistricting process that could net seats for Democrats ahead of the 2026 midterms. Like California’s new map, Virginia’s also would need to be approved by voters.
Democrats could also pick up a congressional seat in New York, where Staten Island voters challenged the state’s map, arguing it dilutes Black and brown voting power in violation of state law and the state constitution. They seek a redraw of the 11th Congressional District, which is currently held by New York City's sole Republican House member.

“They do not believe in fair and free elections. Our republic, our democracy, is on the line,” he warned.

Callais could determine who gets to participate in our democracy and it comes at a time where anti-voter measures are surging. Help protect equal access to the ballot box. Tell Congress to pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act.
A new USPS policy enacted by Trump's first postmaster general could delay mail nationwide. The little-known initiative coupled with the GOP’s ongoing push to restrict mail voting could put millions of rural voters at risk in future elections.
Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.) joined Marc to discuss the government shutdown, Trump’s influence over GOP policy, and how economic inequality threatens the economy and democracy itself. He also reacted to new revelations on Republican efforts to undermine voting rights.
