Open Appointments Application Process - What Else to Know

  • Board staff can answer questions about applying for a seat and assist with submitting applications.
  • Appointing authorities are organizations that review applications and decide who to appoint to vacant seats.
  • You may apply for seats after the twenty-one-day posting period but keep in mind that an appointing agency may have finished reviewing applications by that time.
  • Applications remain active for one year unless withdrawn by the applicant.
  • During that year, applications to a board may be considered for any vacancy on that board.
