The government shutdown—now in its fifth week—isn’t an accident. It’s Chuck Schumer’s choice.

He and Senate Democrats have voted 12 times to keep the government closed—blocking paychecks for our troops, air traffic controllers, and border agents, while cutting off SNAP and WIC benefits for millions of struggling families, including nearly three million right here in New York.

They call this “leverage.” I call it disgraceful.

House Republicans did our job weeks ago. We passed a clean bill to fund the government—no gimmicks, no poison pills, and no cuts to essential programs. But Schumer refuses to act because he’d rather play politics and protect handouts for illegal immigrants than help working Americans.

That’s the difference: we fight for taxpayers. They fight for power.

Every day this shutdown drags on, real Americans suffer—while Chuck Schumer smiles for cameras and pats himself on the back. It’s shameful.

We’re not backing down. I’m fighting to reopen the government responsibly, pay our troops, protect families who rely on food assistance, and stop the reckless spending that got us here in the first place.
