Trump is attacking the Arctic!

The Trump administration just announced a series of horrible decisions that increase the grave threats to Alaska landscapes, wildlife, and local communities. We stand with the Gwich'in and Alaska Native communities to oppose these actions, and to keep these landscapes protected. We have to make as much noise about this as possible, and we need your help to do that. 💥 What is happening? On Thursday, the Department of the Interior opened up vast swaths of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to oil and gas drilling and approved two controversial road-building proposals in Alaska . 

🤷🏻‍♀️ Why is this happening? Trump has made it clear from day one that he wants to exploit our public lands and waters to benefit corporate polluters and billionaires who helped get him elected. This is his latest move: exploit our wildest landscape and natural heritage to help his buddies make more money. 

🚨 What is at stake? The Arctic Refuge is one of the most wild places left on Earth. Even for those who may never set foot there, the Arctic Refuge is an important symbol of the wild. For generations, the Gwich’in people have cared for this land and fought to protect it -- they refer to the coastal plain as "The Sacred Place Where Life Begins." The protection of this irreplaceable landscape is a matter of survival and food security for the Gwich’in, whose way of life is inextricably tied to the health and migration routes of the Porcupine Caribou Herd.
