Healthcare Heist Week of Action
This week also kicks off the October 29-November 5 Healthcare Heist National Week of Action [[link removed]] , hosted by the Economic Security Project along with many national partners, including Families USA. This national week of action will be used to call on Congress to extend these premium tax credits and re-open the government before 22 million Americans see their premiums double, and 4.2 million Americans lose insurance coverage altogether. You can find more information on how you can get involved here [[link removed]] .
For State Partners: Fall Campaign to Protect Health Care Call
As the government shutdown continues and we get closer to the November 1 open enrollment period start date, our advocacy for the permanent extension of the current enhanced premium tax credits (ePTCs) continues to be crucial to both preventing skyrocketing health care costs for millions and to helping Congress reach the best deal possible. Individuals across the country are already confronting spiking premiums and difficult choices about whether they can afford their health insurance.
During this call, we will review the current legislative landscape, discuss how state and national organizations are preparing for open enrollment, and provide resources to help state-based organizations continue to amplify the urgency of this moment and to demand that Congress make the current enhanced premium tax credits permanent now.
