Last week, I joined a news conference in Columbus alongside doctors and community members about what’s happening as the federal government shutdown drags on — and what it means for Georgians.
Today marks Day 27 of the shutdown — and House and Senate Republicans are keeping the government closed and refusing to even come to the table to negotiate.
Here’s what Republicans currently stand to take away:
24 million Americans could lose the Affordable Care Act tax credits that help make coverage possible.
Georgians could see their premiums nearly double.
Rural hospitals and clinics could lose the resources they need to stay open.
This is not governing — it’s reckless, and it’s wrong. I’m fighting every day for a funding bill that will reopen the government and protect affordable, accessible healthcare.
