A 60-year-old couple making $80k would see costs jump from $567 to $2,026 per month. That's the reality Biggs won't mention.

Paid for by Arizona Democrats

Hi there,

In case you missed it: Andy Biggs went on Good Morning Arizona and lied about healthcare.

The gubernatorial candidate and current congressman claimed that people making up to $600,000 a year are getting free healthcare through Obamacare subsidies. Viewers immediately called the station to fact-check him.

Here's what the facts actually show: The nonpartisan Joint Committee on Taxation found that no one making more than $500,000 receives ACA subsidies. About 85% of subsidies go to households making under $150,000 — not wealthy individuals, but middle-class Arizona families.

Biggs is lying — and he knows it.

But guess what Biggs didn’t mention during his TV appearance: What happens to middle-class Arizonans if Republicans eliminate these subsidies.

The Arizona Public Health Association ran the numbers: A 60-year-old couple making $80,000 a year currently pays about $567 a month for health insurance. If the subsidies Republicans are blocking disappear, that cost jumps to $2,026 a month — more than $17,000 a year just to stay insured.

That's not a typo. That's a nearly $1,500 per month increase for a middle-class Arizona couple.

This is the Republican shutdown playbook in action: lie about who benefits from healthcare subsidies, manufacture outrage about imaginary problems, then strip protections from the people who actually need them.

Can you support Arizona Democrats as we expose the truth about what Republicans are doing to healthcare?

Biggs cited a study from the Paragon Health Institute — run by a Trump administration official — to justify his false claims. That's not policy analysis. That's partisan propaganda designed to justify taking healthcare away from Arizona families.

We're making sure every Arizona voter knows exactly what Republicans like Biggs are trying to do.
