We have very disappointing news to share.

Last Tuesday, we launched our Fall Campaign fundraising drive needing to raise $100,000 by midnight on November 1 to keep our nonprofit newsroom fully funded through the end of the year.

However, today is the halfway point of that campaign, and we're still more than $70,000 short of our goal and in very real danger of falling short.

There's never been a more critical time to support independent journalism. The corporate media has utterly surrendered to the Trump administration, and every day it seems another independent or public media outlet announces layoffs.

Common Dreams has avoided that fate for one reason and one reason only: The generous financial support of our readers. We've never taken a dime of corporate ad money, and that's the only reason we can fulfill our people-powered mission: To inform. To inspire. To ignite change for the common good.
