British politics is entering the modern age, but not for the better. This week, Nigel Farage announced that this party has started accepting crypto donations.

On the surface it sounds novel. But beneath the surface, this is a new frontier for untraceable, dark money to flow into our democracy.

Crypto donations mean wealthly donors can give thousands to a political party from an anonymous wallet, with virtually no paper trail to know who’s truly behind it.

Foreign donors. Billionaires hiding behind shell accounts. The potential for abuse is enormous, and the rules aren’t ready for it.

And if that wasn’t enough, a new investigation has revealed that companies who donated to Labour have received £138 million in government contracts.

This is the reality of how our democracy is being hollowed out. Big donors, secret deals, and politicians who look the other way, all while ordinary people lose faith that anyone is fighting for them.

We’ve made a different choice. We’re not funded by big business donations. We don’t take crypto. We’re funded by you, thousands of small donations from people who still believe politics can serve the public, not the powerful.

But to take on this growing threat, we need to show that grassroots democracy can fight back.
