Last year in Wisconsin, 71% of domestic violence homicides involved a firearm . When a gun is present, domestic violence assaults are 12 times more likely to end in death . These tragedies deeply scar vast communities of people. And they're preventable.
That’s why tomorrow , October 28th, at 6:00 PM , WAVE is hosting a Virtual Action Team meeting [[link removed]*8h7itg*_gcl_au*MTUxMDY2MDI1OS4xNzUyNTIxMzM5*_ga*MTY0OTMxMzI3Ny4xNzE3NTA5NTEx*_ga_BCG2LZHNMB*czE3NTk0NDI1NTckbzEzNCRnMCR0MTc1OTQ0MjU2NiRqNTEkbDAkaDA.] during Domestic Violence Awareness Month featuring End Abuse Wisconsin, and their recently published domestic violence homicide report.
Gun violence and domestic violence are deeply connected, which we must acknowledge to effectively keep people safe. As we come together, we’ll honor victims and survivors and highlight solutions that save lives.
