It’s finally happened: Indiana Republicans have been beaten into submission by the White House. Governor Braun has officially called for a special session of the General Assembly so that he can force a mid-decade, potentially illegal gerrymander of our state.

Let me be very clear: Hoosiers are being disenfranchised because of demands coming from Washington. Our basic voting rights are being used as a political football, and Indiana Republicans aren’t showing enough backbone to stop it.

I don’t know about you, but I treasure democracy and the rule of law. They are among the many principles that keep our country free, and truly allow for us to live “with liberty and justice for all.” It seems Republicans in the capital, and here at home have forgotten that.

I won’t mince words – I’m pissed. But I’m ready to fight. I’m ready to fight for democracy, for freedom, for equal representation under the law, and for some semblance of normalcy. But I can’t do it without your support. Every single penny goes towards a broader resistance movement to push back against wannabe authoritarians and those too weak to stop them.

It’s going to be a long road ahead, but I’m honored to fight alongside you.
