Democrats have voted repeatedly to reopen the government and protect affordable health care for millions of Americans.

This reckless Republican shutdown threatens to strip coverage from 15 million Americans and send premiums skyrocketing for millions more. Families are already stretched thin -- they simply can’t afford these increases.

Here’s what’s at stake:

• Nearly 200,000 South Carolinians could lose their health coverage.


• A family of four making $65,000 could see premiums jump $250 more each month.


• A 60-year-old couple in my district earning $82,000 could pay $1,250 more every month starting in 2026.

The American people are clear: 78% of voters (including 57% of MAGA Republicans) want Congress to keep Affordable Care Act plans affordable by maintaining current tax credits.

But instead of working with us, Republicans are trying to distract the public with fearmongering and falsehoods about “undocumented immigrants.”

Democrats are fighting back -- to tell the truth, to reopen the government, and to keep health care within reach for every family. But we need your help to keep spreading the message.
