Last week, I announced my campaign for State Auditor. The response has been overwhelming! It's become common knowledge: we have a massive fraud problem in Minnesota - and we're going to use the office to catch it and stop it when I'm elected. I've gotten questions as to how we can use the office of State Auditor to end the fraud in Minnesota. Here is the plan:
* We will set up a dedicated Fraud Prevention & Recovery Unit within the Auditor’s Office to coordinate with county attorneys, sheriffs, and local elected officials on suspected misuse of funds
* We will expand data analytics and integrating AI tools to spot red flags in financial reports and procurement patterns
* We will launch an “Integrity Hotline” for local employees and citizens to report concerns quickly and safely
* We will expand the office to forensically audit state agencies and the NGOs the state contracts with... non-profits and NGOs are our biggest problems in Minnesota. Our statewide leadership has not tackled them head on.
