Continued Government Shutdown
The ongoing government shutdown caused by Washington Democrats has real consequences for everyday Americans. On September 19th, my colleagues and I passed a clean Continuing Resolution to ensure funding and open the government. However, Senate Democrats are failing to finish the job as they continue to block this straightforward plan.
The sooner we reopen the government; the sooner America can get back to work. Every day the shutdown continues, families lose confidence, and Main Street suffers. I’ll keep pressing for a solution that restores certainty, supports our troops, and keeps our economy strong. This is a defining moment for America; we must put the American people first.
Standing with Those Who Keep America Safe
Every day, our servicemembers, air traffic controllers, and TSA agents keep America safe in the air, on the ground, and around the world. They show up and serve with honor, even when Washington Democrats fail to do the same. These men and women are the backbone of our national security and our economy. When their paychecks are held hostage by political games, it doesn’t just hurt them; it hurts every small business owner, truck driver, and traveler who depends on a strong and functioning America.
Introduced the REAL Meats Act
On Friday, I introduced the Requiring Ethical and Accurate Labeling of Lab-grown Meats (REAL Meats) Act, legislation to amend the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act to ensure that cell-cultured and plant-based “fake meat” products are honestly labeled and not misleading to American consumers.
Under the current law, there are no clear labeling requirements, so consumers may be misled into believing these lab-generated foods are traditional meat products. This puts American livestock producers at a disadvantage and erodes trust in the food marketplace.

In Case You Missed It!
I joined NewsNation to discuss the government shutdown and its impact on Main Street. From family businesses to hardworking Texans, real people are feeling the cost of Washington gridlock.
I spoke with Newsmax about the ongoing government shutdown and the strain it’s placing on communities across the country. Small businesses, families, and federal workers are feeling the weight of Washington’s inaction.
I had a great conversation on WBAP The Morning News about the shutdown and its impact on our economy. As I told the hosts, this never should have happened. Washington Democrats are holding Main Street hostage, hurting small businesses and families.
I sat down on the Will Cain Show to discuss the path forward to ending the government shutdown. Main Street is feeling the strain, and every day Washington Democrats delay, more families and businesses are forced to bear the cost.
I joined The Chris Salcedo Show to discuss the ongoing government shutdown and the consequences of Washington Democrats’ delay in opening up the government. As I told Chris, this is about more than politics; it’s about the future of our country.
In God we trust,
