Y'all, when this pandemic began, Gov. Abbott and Sen. Cornyn dismissed the impacts of COVID-19.

They went on TV and bragged about how Texas was responding to the crisis better than other states. Sen. Cornyn made jokes about Corona beer and said it would be “a piece of cake.”

They didn’t listen to the doctors, nurses, scientists, or public health officials who were telling us that this would be serious -- that we needed to move quickly to prevent the situation from getting much, much worse. Now we’re paying the price.

If you agree that Texas deserves better than career politicians who ignore the advice of public health experts during a global public health crisis, will you pitch in to help me defeat Sen. Cornyn?

Leaders like Gov. Abbott and Sen. Cornyn have failed Texans. They’ve failed our public health and failed our economy -- they’re lagging on the extension of COVID-19 relief funds, even as millions of people are unemployed.

It’s never been more urgent to replace Sen. Cornyn with someone who listens to doctors and nurses, who takes the advice of public health officials and scientists, and who will put the needs of Texans first.

I’m fighting hard to defeat Sen. Cornyn this November, but I’m going to need your help to do it. Will you pitch in and help me ensure we’ve got a senator who will put Texans’ lives and livelihoods first?
