Since the Taliban seized control of Afghanistan in 2021, women have been barred from most public spaces, Afghan citizens are being deported by nearby countries, and marginalized ethnic groups face persecution and violence. For the latest in our Proof series, Iranian photographer Hashem Shakeri went to Kabul to capture what life was like for the people trapped inside the Taliban’s Afghanistan.
