Happy Sunday, True Texans!
Wow! I always try to pace myself and figure out how to share all the fun new announcements without overwhelming your inboxes! It's so hard because I get so excited!
Scholarship Essay Contest
Tell all the high school students you know! It's time for our annual scholarship essay contest! We've got some great topics to consider... and some great prizes as well. Any Texas high school student can enter, and entries are due by 11:59pm on November 30. Click here for full details!
2. Our 5th Annual Dueling Pianos Christmas Party
I don't wanna brag, but we have a pretty good reputation for throwing fun parties. You know how all our meetings have action items? Well, all our parties are full of action too! You'll eat, laugh, sing, and maybe even dance! For sure you'll have a great time. Not only that, we deliberately hold it in the Christmas Capital of Texas so the fun doesn't end until you're ready for it to. Get your tickets here.
Holiday parties will be popping up pretty fast on our calendar! From Thanksgiving feasts to Christmas celebrations, you're invited! Make sure to read this Sunday newsletter every week so you don't miss a thing! Here's one about the annual Thanksgiving dinner we do in Grapevine. This started off years ago as a small party at my house for single friends. Now we will have nearly 100 people - old, young, single, married, anyone is welcome!
3. Certified True Texan Youth Training
Yep, we're doing it again. This time in the Austin area. Details and tickets (free) will be released this week, but mark your calendar for Nov 22. This is the last youth training we'll be doing for awhile. Just like the Christmas party, it will be worth the drive!
4. Conference 2026!
Yes! We're doing another one! Our 15th anniversary conference was so good, y'all asked for another one. Mark your calendars for Jan 23/24! This one will be in Spring (North of Houston), and it will be just as jam-packed with great speakers and good times. Plan to travel as needed!
5. Elections Happening NOW.
You can continue to early vote this week until Friday. Then election day is Nov 4. Folks, there are some really important races being decided. And of course we all have the 17 Amendments to figure out. Make sure your neighbors have the resources they need. You'll find it all at truetexasproject.com/elections.
And don't forget -- those candidates on the ballot would really love you to help! Give an hour to work the polls. Just contact them. They'll love you for it.
