Our work to shift Artificial Intelligence (AI) to 100% renewables is growing. As we’ve written before, AI is transforming our world at lightning speed, but the current costs to our climate and communities are unsustainable and unacceptable.

AI companies are moving fast to win the race to AI supremacy. And that comes with massive, and growing, energy appetite for data centers. This could either accelerate the climate crisis and pollute our planet OR supercharge our renewable energy future to protect the communities they serve.

AI creates noise and air pollution, raises energy rates, and hogs water nationwide. The way artificial intelligence is powered – increasingly by fossil fuels and nukes – is really dumb.

The bottom line is Green America, along with members like you, need to scale up our push to get Big Tech companies to use only renewable energy to power their massive AI servers.

Demand that leading AI companies commit to 100% renewable energy sources.

Google, Meta, Amazon, and Microsoft all are building massive servers costing billions of dollars, and all have commitments to 100% renewable energy, but are turning to fossil fuels to power their AI thirst. They need to use their purchasing power to power AI with 100% wind and solar.

With the White House pushing for AI powered by dirty energy and working to block state efforts to reign in the harms, it’s even more important that we push Big Tech directly!
