John,
Today, we’re hosting the first in a series of public town halls to discuss the desperate need for commonsense gun reform to save lives.
Gun violence and mass shootings have tragically taken too many lives and ravaged families across our state — with little to no legislative action to prevent them.
Communities and families demand change. A recent KSTP/SurveyUSA poll shows that 53 percent of respondents support an assault weapons ban, and 58 percent support a special session to address this violent epidemic.
So I’m taking this issue directly to the people.
Starting today, I’m hitting the road and hosting town halls in districts where state legislators are on the fence about supporting our proposed assault-style weapons and high-capacity magazines ban. These may be hard conversations, but they need to happen if we’re going to do what is necessary to stop further tragedies.
Minnesotans want and deserve this, John. As long as I’m governor, I’m going to keep fighting to make it happen. If you support me in this work, chip in $5 or whatever you can spare.
