xxxxxx, I’m Jermaine Johnson. My journey has taken me from being homeless on the streets of South Carolina to serving in the State House. Now, I'm exploring a run for Governor to give back to the state that made me - because South Carolina deserves better than one-party rule.

As you know, the federal government is currently shut down because Democrats and Republicans couldn’t come together to pass a budget.

Do you believe like I do that South Carolinians deserve better from their elected officials than the divisive politics that led us to this shutdown?

This isn’t some abstract fight happening in Washington - it’s hitting us right here in South Carolina. 

• Nearly 40,000 federal workers in our state will see their paychecks frozen 

• People who depend on VA hospitals across the state will see delays in care

• Families who rely on WIC benefits will lose access to healthy food and formula they rely on 

I believe South Carolinians deserve leaders who will work together in good faith in order to put their constituents' needs first. I’d like to know where you stand on the issue. 

Do you believe Washington politicians like Nancy Mace need to put politics aside and END this shutdown - because it’s hurting real people here in South Carolina?
