Unfortunately, the United States Supreme Court took a step backwards in the fight to safeguard reproductive rights yesterday.

They ruled that employers can deny their employees health insurance coverage of birth control just because they personally object.

Protecting reproductive rights has been a top priority for my office and for our state.

I’m proud of the advances we’ve made in women’s health care here in Washington, but as long as reproductive rights are under attack anywhere — they are under attack everywhere.

My office has joined a coalition of states supporting women’s right to access safe and legal reproductive health care.
