Well, that was only the beginning. Here in Kansas, we’ve reached a boiling point — and right-wing attacks are coming at us from every direction.

I hate to reach out again with another fundraising request, but given the staggering amount of money we’re up against right now, we can’t just sit back and hope things will go our way. We have to push back while we still have the opportunity. Can you chip in and help us out?

There’s a pretty simple reason why Kansas GOP leadership is working so hard to kick me out of Congress — and it’s not only because I’m the only federally elected Democrat from our state. It’s because they see me as an outsider to the ultra-exclusive country club that is Washington.

And they’re not lying. At least not in this case.

I am an outsider in Washington, and proud of it. Before I ran for Congress, I had never held elected office before. But I ran because I was fed up with what I was seeing, just like so many others: A small handful of powerful special interests dictating every part of the GOP’s agenda.

Let’s not beat around the bush here: I’m a red-state Democrat, a former MMA fighter, and an LGBTQ+ Native American woman. So it’s fair to say, I definitely stick out in Congress. And that’s exactly why Kansas Republicans are working around the clock to replace me with another of their own — another far-right rubber stamp who cares more about currying favor with Donald Trump than doing what’s right for our state.
