Dear John,
I'm excited to announce our first special guest for NIAC's Virtual Gala on July 30: this year we will be honoring Washington Lieutenant Governor Cyrus Habib with NIAC's 2020 Leadership Award!
Cyrus is a trailblazer for our community as the first Iranian American ever elected to state-wide office and an inspiration to all of us at NIAC working to build political power for the Iranian-American community.
After filling so many of us with pride with his public service, his commitment to using his platform to fight for issues like repealing the Muslim Ban and supporting the Iran nuclear accord, and surmounting personal challenges that many of could not even imagine, Cyrus is now moving on to his next chapter.
With his poignant but bittersweet announcement that he will step away from elected office at the end of this year, we are honored to have the opportunity to send Cyrus off with a special message of thanks from our community for all that he has accomplished.
If you haven't already, reserve your ticket today to join us for our signature event and consider making a gift towards our fundraising goal in Cyrus' honor. [[link removed]]
In the spirit of building political power and electing a new generation of Iranian Americans to office, I'm also thrilled to announce that o ur Gala will feature Florida State Rep. Anna Eskamani and Salt Lake City Council member Shireen Ghorbani!
I can't wait to see everyone at NIAC's Virtual Gala on July 30th to honor Lt. Gov. Cyrus Habib and ensure we have the support needed to help elect the next generation of Iranian American leaders. Space is filling up fast, so make sure to secure your ticket [[link removed]] today!
