Friend, Donald Trump is demanding that the federal government pays him $230 million in compensation for investigating his crimes around election interference and compromising classified documents.
This would be a completely unprecedented payout and perhaps one of the most openly unethical moves we’ve ever seen from a President.
And as Americans have come to expect, Republicans in Congress, who are constantly warning about budgets and overspending, are standing by him.
Yes, the party that is currently shutting down the government because they claim they can’t afford health care for working Americans is going to give $230 million to the President of the United State
$230 million from the folks who nickel-and-dime the American people, slash lifesaving programs, and then have the nerve to turn around and tell us to pull ourselves up by our bootstraps.
If Trump and Republicans cared about anyone but themselves, they would use that $230 million to restore some funding for:
All impactful programs that represent a mere drop in the bucket of the federal budget — and all programs that Trump and Republicans cut this year while giving themselves a huge tax break.
The bottom line is that the millionaires and billionaires leading the party of “America First” would rather line their own pockets than help the American people, whether it’s through crypto scams, insider trading, stock manipulation, openly corrupt tax schemes, and now government payouts.
Ilhan Omar believes that our nation has a responsibility to invest in our own people and ensure an affordable, prosperous life. We can afford health care, housing, childcare, and a quality education for everyone — it’s just a matter of what our government is willing to do for us. That’s what “America First” should mean. Not giving the president a $230 million check when he demands it.
