Trump Jr-backed drone firm lands Pentagon’s biggest contract, set to supply thousands of drone parts

Unusual Machines, an unheard of company, was just awarded a huge Pentagon contract to build drone parts for the US military. How did they get this contract? Oh, maybe because Donald Trump Jr. has a $4 million stake in the company. This is just outrageous out-in-the-open corruption that makes the Hunter Biden-Burisma thing that Republicans obsessed over for years look like a kid selling lemonade in the park.

Take Action: Demand Congress stop Trump's attacks on our elections!

Democratic philanthropist launches bid to unseat MAGA extremist and take back the Senate

Hector Mujica for Florida: Hector Mujica, a first-generation American and family man, has spent his career helping others at Google’s philanthropic arm and making sure millions of Americans have a chance to succeed. Now he’s taking on Ashley Moody, Ron DeSantis’ handpicked appointee, in the closest race you’ve never heard of. Moody was appointed to finish out Marco Rubio’s term, which means Florida has never elected her before — and she hasn’t made herself any more popular with her rubber-stamping of Trump’s authoritarian agenda. Will you chip in to help Hector Mujica win this highly flippable seat and help take back the Senate?

New York Attorney General Letitia James pleads not guilty in federal bank fraud case
As expected, NY AG Letitia James stood defiant in the face of Trump's bullshit indictment, pleading not guilty and delivering a rousing speech outside the courthouse to fellow democracy enjoyers. “This is not about me. This is about all of us, and a justice system which has been weaponized” and “used as a tool of revenge” against “individuals who simply did their job,” James said. "I've heard from just about every jurisdiction in this nation who have stand up and be tall and never ever cow down or back down or break or bend," she continued. "So there's no fear today. No fear! No fear! No fear because I believe that justice will rain down like water and righteousness like a might stream!" said James. "And I'm here to say that my work and my job and all that I do, all throughout my public career, I've stood up for the right of New Yorkers and Americans and I will not be deterred. And I will not be deterred! I will not be distracted!" thundered James. Proooobably not the response Trump was hoping to get!

US to escalate military presence in South America with aircraft carrier group
Nothing to see here, just the United States Navy deploying eight warships, a nuclear submarine, and F-35 fighter craft to the waters outside of Venezuela. Coming just a day after Trump declared that there would probably be "strikes on land" in Venezuela and brags that he didn't need Congress to go to war, it very much looks like "The Iraq War, But In Our Backyard This Time" is soon to become a reality.

ICE shoots pastor in the face at point blank range

Another day, another heinous display of wanton violence by Trump’s Gestapo troopers. Protestors in Oakland, California, blocked the road to a Coast Guard base being used by ICE to launch immigration raids into the Bay Area in an effort to stop Border Patrol vehicles from getting in. The federal agents responded with overwhelming force. Rev. Jorge Bautista, pastor of the College Heights United Church of Christ in San Mateo, was shot in the face with a pepper ball from five feet away. “I’m in a lot of pain,” Bautista texted the SF Chronicle from an emergency room in Oakland. “He clearly was aiming for the face.” Another protestor had his foot run over by a Border Patrol car, who refused to move the vehicle for nearly a minute. Rev. Laura Cheifetz couldn’t believe her eyes. “They couldn’t even wait five minutes to do what they did,” Cheifetz said in condemnation of the flash-bang grenades and pepper balls fired by ICE. “It is a violation of the First Amendment, which we still respect, even if the federal government does not.”

Take Action: Stop Ted Cruz's plan to criminalize protests!

Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton scammed at home by group claiming to be cleaning crew
Washington D.C.'s non-voting delegate, Eleanor Holmes Norton, got scammed out of $4,400 by a "cleaning crew" who got a hold of her credit card. A D.C. police report described Norton, 88, as having the "early stages of dementia," and said Norton has a caretaker with power of attorney. And yes, she is, in fact, running for re-election.
