Fellow Conservative,
Democrats continue to find creative excuses for why they are keeping the government shut down, and House Minority Whip Katherine Clark accidentally said the quiet part out loud this week...
Day 25 of the Schumer Shutdown
Senate Democrats aren’t interested in reopening the government, but they’re very interested in making appearances at their local, George Soros-funded <[link removed]> No Kings protest. In fact, they’ve now voted to shut down the government 12 times – and their attempts to blame Republicans are falling flat.
This week House Minority Whip Katherine Clark admitted that the shutdown is hurting American families <[link removed]>, but the Democrats will continue to hold the government hostage to preserve their “leverage.” The real reason behind the nearly month-long and continuing shutdown is that Democrats like Rep. Clark value their perceived leverage to force left-wing policies on the American people over paying our soldiers, air traffic controllers, providing food assistance to low-income families, and the impacts on her own constituents <[link removed]>.
Every day this shutdown continues, it has real effects on millions of Americans, regardless of their political affiliation. Heritage Action Sentinels have been highlighting the effects of the Schumer Shutdown better than anyone.
Make no mistake, Chuck Schumer and the Senate Democrats are beholden to the most radical members of their party who are more than happy to sell out the American people if it protects them against primary challengers. That’s why they’re demanding a ransom for their votes. They want $1.5 trillion in new spending and free healthcare for illegal aliens in order to buy off their socialist counterparts in the House.
Someone should remind Senator Schumer that he’s accountable to his constituents, not AOC.

Antifa Funded Protests
Last weekend’s No Kings protests was more of a cringe-fest than a movement – but we can’t let our guard down. These protests were funded by the same shadowy network of NGOs that funds leftist violence across the country. Look no further than in Portland, where the No Kings protest turned into a violent assault on federal agents and required black hawk helicopters and tear gas to disperse. This is a feature, not an accident, of NGO-funded leftist action.

The Antifa network funnels cash to their associated nonprofits that then organize protests with the knowledge that, given the right circumstances, some will spiral off into riots. Some of the riots involve weapons, shields, and Molotov cocktails. On top of that, they set up bail funds for the rioters that law enforcement managed to arrest — thanks to “generous donations” from the public.
Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas) is leading the effort to establish a select committee to investigate the Antifa Network and associated left-wing terrorism. This proposed committee, if property funded, staffed and equipped with subpoena powers, would investigate the coordination of attacks and seek to uncover the links that hold the Antifa network together.
But exposing these links is only a start when it comes to stopping bad actors. That’s why Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and Rep. Beth Van Duyne (R-Texas) introduced the Stop FUNDERs Act <[link removed]> (S.2376 / H.R. 4620), which adds violent rioting to the list of RICO offenses. This legislation ensures that those who fund, organize, or coordinate such violence can be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
Heritage Action has launched a new toolkit to help you put the pressure on Congress <[link removed]> to stop Antifa violence.
Virginia is in Play
The all-important elections in Virginia are fast approaching, and they’re too close for comfort. In addition to the races in key seats that Heritage Action has been engaged in, the top of the ticket is moving back within reach for Republicans.
Radical Democrat Abagail Spanberger has built her campaign on portraying herself as a moderate, but her record tells a different story. She has support radical policies including abortion up until birth and allowing men into women’s spaces like bathrooms and locker rooms.
As scandalous as this is, her party’s candidate for Attorney General, Jay Jones, is so radical that he fantasizes about killing Republicans and their children, and then “pissing on their graves.” He belongs nowhere near any elected office, let alone as the top law enforcement officer in Virginia. To make matters worse, Jones is currently under investigation relating to his community service claims stemming from a 2022 reckless driving conviction. With every passing week, Jay Jones continues to disqualify himself from holding Virginia’s highest law enforcement office.
However, this election is about more than just a few radical candidates. If Democrats win the Virginia House, they will likely pursue an eleventh-hour attempt to redraw the state’s congressional map to draw Republican legislators out of their seats.
The Redistricting Arms Race
Speaking of redistricting…
While several Republican-led states are redrawing their congressional maps in response to a recent court order, Democrats are attempting a power grab in blue states. The redistricting process could benefit Republicans by potentially adding 19 key GOP seats in states such as Ohio, Indiana, Missouri, Texas, North Carolina, Nebraska, Florida, and Utah.
A current redistricting case before the Supreme Court raised Democrat alarm bells last week as it could repeal an antiquated statute that requires states to draw a certain number of race-based congressional districts. If the statute is overruled, it would allow several southern red states to redraw their maps, which would likely result in more Republican seats. Naturally, blue state Democrats are doing all they can to preserve flawed maps and draw new ones that endanger Republican districts.
However, House Republicans are looking at the bigger picture – and rightly so. Last Congress, Heritage Action issued a key cosponsorship <[link removed]> in favor of the Equal Representation Act, which would stop blue states from counting illegal aliens in their census data, which is used to determine congressional apportionment, among other things. Preventing this would stop Democrats from cheating the system to win more seats in Congress – and the best part is that the bill is expected to be marked up in the coming months.
Stay tuned for more!
