 White Settlement Is Gone

Last week, we told you that the Fort Worth City Council was set to vote on renaming White Settlement road. Well, the vote passed.

Only two members voted against it, Alan Blaylock and Charlie Lauersdorf. We owe a big thanks to both of them for doing the right thing. You should never cave to your enemies who want to erase history.

Many of the other council members would bill themselves as "Business Republicans" until they have to choose between giving liberals what they want and standing for the business community. This move is obviously going to make things more difficult for businesses on this street. Clients will be confused, and all sorts of marketing must now be changed.

The move was (allegedly) meant to erase the "painful memories" the name of the street brought for American Indians. Really, this does the opposite. CBS reported that the move to rename White Settlement was actually OPPOSED by American Indians in Fort Worth, who see it as erasing history. They rightly would prefer that the history of their people be remembered, not forgotten. The only way to not repeat history is to remember it.

This move hurts and is opposed by both the Business Community and the American Indians. But liberals and complicit Republicans did it anyway, because at the end of the day, they have their loyalties.
