Our country is diverse. Our government is not.
At every level of leadership, women, people of color, and LGBTQ+ people are severely underrepresented. And unfortunately, existing progressive organizations often wait until candidates reach “viability” to step in -- rather than helping these diverse candidates build their campaigns from the ground up.

More Like America PAC is working to fill that gap (they literally want our governments to look more like America). They’ll be giving money directly to diverse state legislative candidates in Arizona, Florida, Michigan, and North Carolina.
We’re teaming up with them to supercharge our work of building a candidate pipeline full of young, diverse progressives who are ready to lead.

Diversity in representation has continued to improve -- but is still a major issue in the Democratic party. As of 2017, 79% of Democratic elected officials were white and 65% were men.
The bottom line is: There is still so much more work to be done -- and we at Run For Something and our friends at More Like America PAC are ready to get to work.
We’ve found the candidates and are working with them behind the scenes to help build strong campaigns. More Like America is giving them money, helping them gain support and viability early in the game. Ultimately, their goal (and ours!) is to flip state legislatures and build progressive grassroots support across the country.
