Look, John – it’s clear that Donald Trump is using this shutdown as yet another cover to weaponize the federal government against his enemies.

Republicans shut the government down because they’d rather slash healthcare coverage for over 22 million working Americans than stand up to Trump.

To punish Democrats for refusing to sell out their constituents, Trump cut $27 billion of pre-approved funding from Democratic districts.

Now, we’re 24 days into this Republican shutdown – with no end in sight, and no relief for the millions of Americans at risk. 

I will not stop fighting to end this shutdown and protect the millions of Americans who are seeing their costs skyrocket, their benefits disappear, and their cities face illegal partisan attacks.
