Dear Patriot,
Hours after taking office, President Trump righted one of the worst miscarriages of justice I’ve witnessed in my decades in law enforcement by pardoning DC Officer Terence Sutton.
Today, I’m asking you to help me right another injustice in this case – on behalf of Deputy U.S. Marshal Cory Novick, a government witness at Officer Sutton’s trial.
Please allow me to explain…
Officer Terence Sutton was attempting to pull over a known gang member for illegal activity. The suspect fled on his scooter and drove straight into oncoming traffic. He was hit by a civilian vehicle and passed away from his injuries.
The DC anti-police mob went crazy.
They blamed Officer Sutton for the accident, smeared him as a racist, and pressured federal prosecutors to charge him with Second-Degree Murder, which they did.
The prosecution’s case relied on portraying Officer Sutton’s conduct as reckless and indifferent – and they called on Deputy Cory Novick to testify along their party line.
But Cory is a man of integrity and honor. He served as a DC police officer, a Calvert County Deputy Sheriff, and a Deputy U.S. Marshal with no history of misconduct.
He took the stand and swore an oath to tell the truth – and that’s exactly what Cory did. In fact, he was called and recalled several times during the course of the months-long trial.
He told the truth. But his truthful testimony did not support the prosecution’s politically motivated narrative.
The government was furious – even though the anti-cop jury still found Officer Sutton guilty…
…and without any disciplinary action or a single incident on his record, Biden’s U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia abruptly added Cory to the “Lewis List.”
If you know what the Lewis List is – then you know why I’m asking you to help Cory.
You see, this blacklist is a secretive designation of law enforcement officers whose credibility the government claims is impaired.
Placement on that list ended Cory’s service with the Marshals.
He was never given notice. Never given a hearing. Never even told the factual basis for the action.
Will you help Deputy Cory Novick restore his good name by donating $35, $50, $100, or more?
My name is Jason Johnson. I’m the President of the Law Enforcement Legal Defense Fund (LELDF).
For over 30 years, LELDF has helped wrongly accused or convicted officers clear their names and get their lives back. We’ve supported scores of men and women through trials, appeals, administrative proceedings, and even presidential pardons.
But I can’t think of a time when we’ve been called in to help an officer who was blacklisted for telling the truth.
The truth!
It goes to show how low the progressive prosecutors overtaking this country will go to wage their war on cops. And that’s why your support today is so important.
Cory has a great team of attorneys and I’m optimistic about their ability to get this terrible injustice undone, especially with President Trump in office and Pam Bondi his Attorney General. But with several major trials underway for our other officers, I need to make sure LELDF has the resources to pay for Cory’s defense.
That’s why I’m asking you to give just $35, $50, $100, or more to the Law Enforcement Legal Defense Fund today.
What Biden’s DOJ did to Cory was retaliation. Plain and simple.
That is not justice. That is politics. And it sends a chilling message to every law enforcement officer who might be called to the stand.
Thank you in advance for standing with Deputy Marshal Cory Novick and the Law Enforcement Legal Defense Fund.
