We're hosting a drive-in movie experience for Oswego

The Village of Oswego?s retro drive-in movie experience is back. Join us Thursday, July 16, for a socially distanced outdoor movie experience featuring Toy Story 4, presented by The Reserve at Hudson Crossing in downtown Oswego, a Shodeen mixed-use development.

For just $5 per vehicle, watch Woody, Buzz, Forkie and the gang on their last adventure next Thursday night at the Oswego Park N Ride lot on Station Drive, and get a complimentary bag of popcorn from The Popcorn Store in Oswego. Gates open at 7:30 p.m. and the movie begins at dark, approximately 9 p.m. ?

There are 50 spaces available for this event, and registration is open to Oswego residents on a first-come, first-served basis. Photo ID proving Oswego residency will be required at check-in.

?

Only register your vehicle, not the number of guests attending. Make space for the neighbors ? one vehicle only per household, please. A waiting list will be kept in case of a cancellation.

?

To ensure the best viewing experience for everyone, vehicles will be assigned parking based on vehicle size and whether or not the back hatch will remain open during the movie.

Attendees will get a bag of popcorn from Oswego?s own The Popcorn Store included in the cost of admission. Need more? Order food to go in advance from one of Oswego?s many restaurants. Restaurants located immediately adjacent to the Park N Ride lot offering curbside pick-up include:

  • Steve Buresh?s Cheesecake Shop
  • Prohibition Junction
  • New China Hut
  • Chicago Pizza Authority
  • McDonald?s
  • Taco Bell

Call ahead to check restaurant hours. Patrons are welcome to bring in their own food and beverages.? Alcoholic beverages are not permitted.

Social distancing guidelines in effect

Keep your family and your community healthy! The following guidelines will be in effect at the event:

  • Park your vehicle every other stall, following instructions from parking volunteers
  • Watch the movie from your own vehicle
  • Wear your face mask when outside of your vehicle
  • Maintain 6 feet between yourself and others
  • Do not enter the event if you?re feeling ill or have been directed to self-quarantine within the last 14 days
  • Families are urged to use bathroom facilities before attending the event; however, port-o-lets will be available for emergencies.
