Dear John,
Our community came together for an exciting Evening for the Environment last night. All of us at Maine Conservation Voters (MCV) and Maine Conservation Alliance (MCA) are grateful for the words from Samaa Abdurraqib, Pete Maysmith, Lucy Hocschartner, Adam Nordell, Kaya Lolar, and Francis Eanes.
The message last night was clear: Those driving local and state action today are shaping the future we will all share. Thank you for being by our side as we build a sustainable and more equitable Maine together.
In the words of Pete Maysmith, LCV President, last night:
"While Washington is horribly broken, the most critical way to keep making progress, to keep finding light in the darkness, is to work in states and in our local communities like you are doing here in Maine.
Working to provide a better grid and hold utilities accountable. Protecting our clean water from toxic chemicals like PFAS. Prioritizing tribal sovereignty through education. Partnering with local unions on solutions that benefit everyone–these are inspiring stories of the differences we can keep making in our communities even in these unprecedented times."
We invite you to view a recording of the evening here.
