Just three months ago, DA Jackie Lacey won her primary with nearly twice
as many votes as the second place candidate.(1)

But then you, our supporters, helped Courage California and Black Lives
Matter Los Angeles call out Lacey for turning a blind eye to police
brutality. On Sunday, we reached 2 million Los Angeles Times readers, who
now know just how deadly she's allowed L.A. police to be. We've garnered
the attention of national and state media as well as law enforcement!

Now the Times is saying that Lacey's race is close, and has been totally
"reshaped" because activists are demanding that DAs holding law
enforcement accountable.(2)

We are on the verge of kicking Lacey out of office. But we can't stop with
just one newspaper ad. We're going to be running digital ads, contacing
voters, and sharing Lacey's terrible record on our Courage California
Voter Guide until she is defeated in November.

Lacey has been giving law enforcement a free pass on violence against the
community since she took office.

Perhaps her most best-known failure of the Black community is when, in
2018, she failed to prosecute the officer who murdered Brendon Glenn, an
unarmed homeless man whose death was so unjustified the Chief of Police
called for the officer’s arrest.(3)

Black Lives Matter Los Angeles has been protesting outside of her office
for more than three years as the numbers of people that have died at the
hands of police grew. The group has kept a database showing that more than
600 people have died since 2012, and Lacey's office has a perfect record
of acquitting the officers.(4)

The good news is that pressure against Lacey and her pro-police record is
building. Last week, prominent Congressman Adam Schiff withdrew his
endorsement of her, and Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti is distancing
himself from her as well.(5)

But the police unions and pro-police advocacy groups have poured more than
$2 million into seeing Lacey keep her office.(6)

We, the people, don't have millions of dollars to run television ads and
billboards to defeat Jackie Lacey, but we do have the grassroots power to
make sure she loses in November. With Courage and your contribution, we
can secure the resources needed to keep our campaign going. Will you chip
