Washington D.C. – Sunday officially marked one month since we passed the clean government funding bill out of the House. But, because of Democrats in the Senate, our government remained shut down this week. The Senate Democrats have voted time and time again to keep our government shut down.

I remain committed to working on finding a path forward. Our offices in Addison and Washington, D.C. have and will continue to remain open and available to help you or answer any questions you may have.

On Monday, I attended the Congressional Dinner Series with the Business Council for International Understanding with the U.S. Ambassador to Argentina, Ambassador Peter Lamelas, and the Argentine Ambassador to the U.S., Ambassador Alec Oxenford. Also joining us were other Members of Congress and representatives from companies like Chevron and OpenAI.

We discussed ways to strengthen the relationship between Argentina and the United States. We had a fascinating conversation where I was able to raise concerns about the recent announcement to import more Argentine beef into the United States.

Tuesday morning, I had the chance to join the Australian Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese, and the Australian Ambassador to the U.S., Ambassador Kevin Rudd, for a breakfast at Blair House to celebrate the great friendship between our two countries. President Trump and Prime Minister Albanese signed a Critical Minerals Framework, a major step toward advancing both our nations’ ambitions for energy and minerals.

I am glad to be one of the Members of Congress to call myself a Friend of Australia. Just earlier this year, they hosted hundreds of North Texans from Texas-24 who joined us for our family fly-in!

This week we saw the lowest gas prices in four years. The pictures below were taken in Texas-24 on Tuesday.

Republicans are focused on expanding American energy production to lower costs for hardworking families in America.

Had a great time visiting with some SMU Mustangs during their Hilltop-on-the-Hill trip!

I was able to give them a behind-the-scenes Capitol tour and show them a few spots you don’t always get to see, even Rep. Richard Hudson said hi!

I was glad to join Rep. Debbie Dingell for a bipartisan discussion with The Hill to talk about how we can work together to ensure access to screening and diagnostic care, and about our legislation, the Access to Breast Cancer Diagnosis Act of 2025. Read more in my Work of the Week.

As an alumna, I always enjoy a chance to connect with Cornell students. This week I talked with a class of first-year students who are completing their first semester here in D.C. The students also heard from a panel of other Cornell alumni working on the Hill.

I shared my journey from college to public service in Irving, to now serving as the Representative for Texas’ 24th district. These students were engaged and asked thoughtful questions, many focused on how I have stayed connected with my district during the shutdown.

It was great to meet with financial advisors from LPL Financial during their fly-in this week. LPL Financial is the largest independent broker-dealer firm in the country, with more than 32,000 financial advisors serving over 7 million families and businesses nationwide.

Not only have Democrats in the Senate continued to vote to keep our government shut down, holding the American people hostage, but they blocked a bill to pay our military and essential workers.

Texas-24 Work of the Week

This week, I joined my colleague in an interview to talk about the Access to Breast Cancer Diagnosis Act of 2025, which is important bipartisan legislation that would require insurance companies to cover diagnostic testing.

Texas-24 Hometown Hero

This week’s Hometown Heroes are the team members working on the Methodist Health System’s Mobile Mammography Unit. They travel across North Texas, providing access to breast cancer screenings and raising awareness about the importance of early detection.
