Donald Trump is handing out “get out of jail free” cards to his political allies, donors, and business partners — again.

According to the New York Times, Trump has quietly granted clemency to more of his wealthy donors and insiders — people convicted of serious crimes — simply because they gave money to him.

It’s corruption, plain and simple.

When politicians protect their friends and punish their critics, our democracy suffers. We all know this isn’t fair. I saw what real accountability looks like when I served in the Marine Corps — and I can tell you, this isn’t it. Public service should be about duty, not self-interest.

Washington has become a place where too many people are in it for themselves, and too few are fighting for the people they represent. That’s what I’m running to change.
