Click here Make Sure Working Families are Supported Through 2021COVID-19 has presented many challenges to low- and moderate-income families, including unemployment, wage cuts and financial insecurity, and they are likely to feel the consequences well into the future. In order to mitigate some of the harm from the pandemic, the Senate has introduced the bipartisan COVID-19 Earned Income Act (S.3452), a bill to let families use earned income from a previous year to remain eligible for tax credits like the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and Child Tax Credit (CTC). This rule adjustment is a simple but important step to ensure that families continue to receive the federal tax benefits they often depend on for paying bills, keeping food on the table, building savings and more. Now, we need your help to push this legislation forward. Please take two minutes to email your legislators today and ask them to support the COVID-19 Earned Income Act to help families stay eligible for important federal tax benefits, regardless of changes to their income this year. We hope you'll join us in drumming up additional support for this important bill. Please contact Joanna Ain if you have additional questions about the Earned Income Act. |
