Oklahoma,

If you've ever seen the movie Groundhog Day, I can assure you the Senate is living through it.

Chuck Schumer and his Senate Democrat colleagues continue to vote against reopening the government time and time again. Why you might ask? They're so afraid of their own voters that one Senate Democrat described their fears as facing the "guillotine." I've long said I’ll work across the aisle if they love the country, but as soon as some liberals put their political ambitions over doing the right thing—that’s where you lose me in the conversation. The fight continues.

In an effort to demonstrate Republican unity during the Schumer Shutdown, President Trump invited the Senate Republicans to the White House for lunch in the Rose Garden. Every time I'm at the White House, it reminds me of what an honor it is for a kid from Westville, Oklahoma, to be seated with the leader of the free world and my colleagues. After lunch, the president brought us into the Oval Office. The President even gave me a signed copy of his Bible. It was a nice surprise and was great encouragement for us to stay unified on not giving an inch to Chuck Schumer and the radical left.

Every morning since September 30th, the Senate has woken up to Sonny & Cher's "I Got You Babe." Too bad for America, it's not a movie. For America, it's a reality. For 24 days, all but three Senate Democrats have voted to keep the American government closed and leave essential workers without pay. Thousands of Oklahomans are also realizing that if the government stays closed, food stamps (SNAPS) may soon run out.

This is a serious situation, and I’ll keep voting YES to re-open the federal government until the remaining Democrats decide to do the right thing.

Senate Democrats are holding the American people hostage—but don’t take my word for it. This week, the #2 House Democrat, Rep. Katherine Clark (D-MA) said in an interview, "Of course there will be families that are going to suffer... but it is one of the few leverage times we have."Remember, Chuck Schumer also recently told the media, “Every day gets better for us.”

The Senate Democrats are saying the quiet part out loud.

Over the weekend, I visited the United States Military Academy at West Point and had a great visit with cadets from Oklahoma. The Cadets at West Point are the future of this nation and it was an honor to spend the day with them on campus. They will face monumental challenges in the ever-changing national security landscape. However, I am confident that the elite education and training they receive at West Point will more than prepare them to tackle those challenges head on. I am so proud of our West Point Cadets and I'm inspired by their selfless dedication to the United States of America.

October has been full of frustration, but thankfully, it's also been full of Oklahoma's veterans coming to town to see the memorials built in their honor. On Tuesday, I was blessed with another visit from an Oklahoma Honor Flight from Northeast Oklahoma. Thank you for your service and safe travels home. It was an honor to be in your company.

President Trump is the 'Peace Through Strength' President. It has been his mission since Day One to end forever wars. I welcome his new sanctions on Russia targeting their oil industry. Putin does not care about his people, he cares about his economy. On Wednesday, I joined CNN's Jake Tapper on The Lead to unpack the new developments in the war between Ukraine and Russia, give an update on the Schumer Shutdown, and react to the construction at the East Wing of the White House—which is at no cost to the taxpayer by the way.

The Chuck Schumer Shutdown could end in five minutes if five Senate Democrats would do the right thing. Yesterday, I released my latest Mullin It Over column expressing my frustration against the left for holding the American people hostage for 24 days. I've voted 12 TIMES to reopen the government. It takes 60 votes to end the shutdown, and all we have is 55. The Democrats' games must end. People's fiscal security, government benefits and programs, and ways of life are at risk.

Check it out HERE.
