Trump Admin Announces New IVF Policies and Guts Family Planning Programs [[link removed]]
The Trump administration unveiled a deal with pharmaceutical company EMD Serono to lower the cost of IVF-related drugs for some patients and proposed a plan to allow employers to offer fertility benefits, similar to dental or vision insurance.
Nancy Northup, Center President and CEO, said the recommendations fall short and don’t meaningfully improve IVF access: “Instead of requiring IVF insurance coverage, these policy recommendations are shamefully narrow in scope, short on details, and continue to leave it up to employers to decide whether to cover this critical care.”
At the same time, the Trump admin gutted a federal agency responsible for overseeing family planning programs. Nearly the entire staff of the Office of Population Affairs was reportedly fired, leaving no one to administer the Title X family planning program.
Title X is the only federal program dedicated to family planning and funds critical services including birth control and STI testing. Without administrative oversight, millions could lose access to these reproductive health services.

Trump Admin's Anti-Science Crusade Targets Abortion Pills and Tylenol [[link removed]]
U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. recently doubled down on his promise to investigate the abortion pill mifepristone, despite mifepristone’s irrefutable safety record since it was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 25 years ago. In September, the Center for Reproductive Rights sued the Trump admin for withholding records related to the investigation. [[link removed]] .
President Trump held a press conference to spew unfounded claims rejected by all leading medical groups that taking Tylenol while pregnant increases autism risk. The FDA is starting the process to change Tylenol’s label and will launch a “nationwide public service campaign.”

"Women around the world are united by the common struggle of overcoming discrimination we face simply because of our gender. The hard-won achievements in Latin America are the result of decades of organization, mobilization, and above all, collective and solidarity-driven work. Rankings sometimes show one face, but behind it are thousands of women, organizations, and survivors who made this possible."
