Human rights are universal, not situational.
As both a citizen and a member of Congress, I have the freedom, even the obligation, to speak out and work for human rights – and that is what I will continue to do. So let me be clear, Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank – children, parents, elders – are human beings that deserve freedom, justice, and dignity – just like you and me!
Since 2006, I have been attacked as a “supporter of terrorists” by AIPAC – the American Israel Public Affairs Committee – because I believe health care for Palestinian children is a right, Palestinian teenagers should not be tortured in Israeli military prisons, and a permanent cease fire to end the killing in Gaza while condemning Israel’s use of starvation as a weapon of their genocide.
I will never back down from defending human rights because my constituents stand with me – we fight for human rights together!
A fundamental tenet of U.S. foreign policy was once a defense of human rights – for pro-democracy and environmental leaders, for journalists, for children, for women to access reproductive health care, and unions to organize freely. Fundamental human rights are our rights – and all of our rights are under attack by authoritarians like Trump and Netanyahu.
I’m proud to be a human rights leader in Congress, promoting human rights for Palestinians, Israelis, Americans, Ukrainians … all people!

While I will always speak out against AIPAC’s hate and support for genocide against the Palestinian people, I need you to have my back. We can’t win this fight alone and need to keep up the pressure to protect Palestinian rights.
