Last week, Transportation and Infrastructure Democrats met with the National Air Traffic Controller Association president to learn more about the shutdown's impact on air traffic controllers.

Air traffic controllers are committed to your safety, and as of today, and every day this government shutdown continues, they are not getting paid. And yet, they are still showing up for work.
Rather than working to reopen the government to ensure air traffic controllers get paid, the Republican White House is scrutinizing workers who are calling in sick and threatening to fire them. These threats will only make things worse.
We can not afford to lose more workers from an already depleted air traffic controller workforce. Instead of blaming the people we rely on to safely transport the flying public, the Trump administration should come to the negotiating table. They should agree to fix the health care crisis, end this shutdown, and pay air traffic controllers.
More soon,
Rick
