Email from NYS Senate In-Person on October 28th   Dear Neighbor, Next Tuesday, October 28th, I will be holding my first in-person Older Adult Resource Fair since before the pandemic, at Lenox Hill Neighborhood House. This is event will be smaller in scale that those I hosted in years past, with reps from around 30 organizations, so be sure to register for a time slot to attend. And on Thursday, November 6th, I will be hosting Session III of this year's Virtual Older Adult Roundtable Series. This session will focus on understanding federal cuts to Social Security, SSI, and SSD, and what you can do to fight those cuts. See below for more information and RSVP details. Most of us have paid into Social Security all of our lives. We rely on Social Security for stability in retirement, in case of disability, or if we lose a working spouse. Clearly, these funds are vital, particularly since half of older adults rely on Social Security for the majority of our income. Learn about the impact of the Federal budget cuts to Social Security, SSI, and SSD, what can be done to fight the cuts, and what needs to be done to keep the Social Security system solvent for the future.
